Join the Global Crises Project: An International Call for Collaborators
Behaviour in Crisis Lab at Jagiellonian University invites researchers from around the world to join the Global Crises Project, a large-scale international research initiative conducted in collaboration with the Centre for the Politics of Feelings at Royal Holloway, University of London, and affiliated with the Psychological Science Accelerator (PSA).
Researchers interested in participating are invited to submit an expression of interest by 31 October 2026.

Conference “Social Work and Social Welfare: Towards the Pragmatics of Re institutionalisation”

The conference continues the discussion on the re-institutionalisation of social welfare and social work initiated by the organisers in 2024 (Disaster Preparedness Policy for Humanitarian Crises: A Social Welfare Perspective) and continued in 2025 (Social Assistance and Social Work in Times of Crisis: The Philosophy and Pragmatics of Re institutionalisation).

Nothing About Us Without Us. A Meeting Around the Book by Prof. Małgorzata Michel "Juveniles in the Pedagogy of Stanisław Jedlewski. (Un)Closed Reflections"

On January 21, at the Institute of Pedagogy of the Jagiellonian University, a book promotion event was held for the publication by Dr hab. Małgorzata Michel, Prof. JU, entitled "Juveniles in the Pedagogy of Stanisław Jedlewski. (Un)Closed Reflections" (Kraków: Jagiellonian University Press, 2025). The meeting created a space for a multi-voiced, interdisciplinary debate on juveniles, social rehabilitation, and institutional responsibility, with the participation of invited guests and—most importantly—young people from a juvenile detention center.

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced the list of applications awarded funding under the Bekker NAWA 2025 program. Among the scholarship recipients is Dr hab. Katarzyna Jaśko, Prof. UJ, from the Institute of Psychology at the Jagiellonian University and a member of the Behaviour in Crisis Lab team. The Bekker Scholarship Program is one of NAWA’s flagship initiatives.
