Join the Global Crises Project: An International Call for Collaborators
Behaviour in Crisis Lab at Jagiellonian University invites researchers from around the world to join the Global Crises Project, a large-scale international research initiative conducted in collaboration with the Centre for the Politics of Feelings at Royal Holloway, University of London, and affiliated with the Psychological Science Accelerator (PSA).
Researchers interested in participating are invited to submit an expression of interest by 31 October 2026.

BiC Lab open meeting: Some causes and consequences of political trust in times of democratic strain

We invite you to the weekly open Behaviour in Crisis Lab meeting. The speaker at the upcoming meeting will be Dr Fanny Lalot, a social psychologist from the University of Basel, whose research focuses on trust and cooperation in social relationships, prosocial behaviour, as well as attitudes toward the natural environment. In her talk, “Some causes and consequences of political trust in times of democratic strain”, Dr Lalot will present the latest findings from her research team examining the causes and consequences of political trust during periods of democratic strain.

Signing of the Charter of the Rights of Children of Parents Deprived of Liberty
25.03.2026
On 19 March 2026, the Charter of the Rights of Children of Parents Deprived of Liberty was signed at the Ministry of Justice. The signatories to the document are the Minister of Justice, the Ombudsman for Children, and the Director General of the Prison Service.
Dr. hab. Małgorzata Michel, Professor at the Jagiellonian University, from the Behavior in Crisis Lab, is a co-author of the Charter’s content as well as a member of the working group at the Ministry of Justice, whose aim will be to monitor the implementation of the Charter’s provisions in penitentiary institutions and the quality of measures protecting children visiting parents in penitentiary isolation.

Konferencja Praca socjalna i pomoc społeczna. W kierunku pragmatyki reinstytucjonalizacji już za nami. Wydarzenie odbyło się w Sali Obrad Urzędu Miasta Krakowa i zgromadziło praktyków pomocy społecznej, przedstawicielki i przedstawicieli środowisk naukowych oraz osoby zaangażowane w rozwój i profesjonalizację pracy socjalnej w Polsce. Spotkanie stanowiło kontynuację dyskusji dotyczącej reinstytucjonalizacji pomocy społecznej, rozpoczętej w latach 2024–2025, a jego celem był krytyczny namysł nad kondycją współczesnej pomocy społecznej oraz wypracowywanie rekomendacji służących wzmacnianiu odporności organizacji pomocowych w czasach nasilających się kryzysów.
