Professor at the Business School of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She earned her Ph.D. from Columbia University in the field of personality and social psychology.
Research Interests
Professor Hong’s main research areas include culture and cognition, identity, intergroup relations, decision-making, and political psychology. Committed to interdisciplinary research, she integrates social psychology, behavioral economics, neuroscience, and genetics to analyze identity and intergroup dynamics. Through this integration, she aims to deepen understanding of how culture, identity, and human biology co-evolve, offering new perspectives on human development in the context of globalization and multicultural exposure.
She is currently the editor of the Advances in Culture and Psychology book series (published by Oxford University Press) and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pacific Rim Psychology.
