Manos Tsakiris

Manos Tsakiris

Manos Tsakiris is a Professor of Psychology at the Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway, University of London, where he leads the Lab of Action & Body (LAB). His research is highly interdisciplinary and uses a wide range of methods to investigate the neurocognitive mechanisms that shape the experience of embodiment and self-identity in social relations and politics.

He is the recipient of the Young Mind and Brain Prize in 2014, of the 22nd Experimental Psychology Society Prize in 2015, the NOMIS Foundation Distinguished Scientist Award in 2016, and in 2019 he was elected Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science. From 2020 to 2022 he served as the elected President of the European Society of Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience.

Since 2021, he has been the director of the interdisciplinary Centre for the Politics of Feelings (https://www.politics-of-feelings.com/) at the University of London, that he inaugurated with the support of the NOMIS Foundation. In 2022 he led a successful bid for a Marie Curie Doctoral Network application for the project ‘Interdisciplinary Perspectives on the Politics of Adolescence and Democracy’(https://www.ippad.eu/), for which the Jagiellonian University is one of the beneficiaries.
