Aleksandra Gruszka-Gosiewska

Aleksandra Gruszka-Gosiewska, PhD, Associate professor , holder of phd and habilitation in social sciences in the discipline of psychology, professor at the Jagiellonian University (UJ), deputy director of the Institute of Psychology of the Jagiellonian University for general affairs, head of the Department of Experimental Psychology. She is a member of the Management Board of the Psychology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences branch in Krakow. Her research interests focus on understanding the brain basis of selected functions and mechanisms of human cognition, as well as changes in this area caused by neurodegenerative conditions. Her research combines cognitive testing, brain imaging, and approaches typical to experimental psychology and psychometrics. She is the author and co-author of scientific and popularizing publications, including: "Handbook of Individual Differences in Cognition Attention, Memory, and Executive Control"  - with B.Szymura and G. Matthews; book "Creativity training - new" - with E. Nęcka, J. Orzechowski and B. Szymura; "Handbook Of The Management Of Creativity And Innovation: Theory And Practice" - with others). In 2004-2006, as a laureate of the Wellcome Trust Fellowship, she worked at the Medical Research Council Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit in Cambridge (United Kingdom ). She was awarded the Andrzej Malewski Award of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2007).
